"Just as no two diamonds are the same, every woman is as unique as the diamond she wears."
The most precious quality of a diamond is its uniqueness. Each stone that emerges from the darkness of the earth shines in a special way thanks to the individual characteristics that emphasize its beauty and value. These are determined by the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity and Weight.
Discover the qualities that make each diamond special and highlight its refinement and elegance. In the same way, the diamonds selected by Malvensky emphasize the uniqueness of the woman who chooses to wear such a jewel. Malvensky selects for his clients, with care and attention, diamonds of the highest quality standards, which fall within values close to perfection: clarity from flawless to VS2 and color from D to G.
Diamonds are found in a variety of colors, from very precious pink, blue or even yellow to the famous white diamonds. In the case of white diamonds, any shade of yellow will decrease its value. The whiter the diamond, the more light it will reflect and the more valuable it will be. Diamonds are evaluated according to GIA standards, on a scale from D to Z depending on the degree of yellow pigment contained. After the cut, the color is the most important quality standard that we have to take into account when making such an investment. Color becomes an even more important aspect as the carat of the diamond increases, because color is easier to perceive in a larger diamond, as opposed to a smaller diamond.
Because diamonds are formed at great depth on the earth's surface, under conditions of extreme heat and pressure, almost all of them show imperfections either inside (also called inclusions) or on the surface. These imperfections are usually not visible to the naked eye, but they can affect the brilliance of the diamond. Almost all diamonds are evaluated according to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) standards, which take into account the number, color, size and position of these imperfections, visible with a 10x magnifying glass. The clarity of a diamond is very important - the more inclusions it has, the more its brilliance will be affected, and the diamond will appear dull and dark. Starting from the highest clarity: Flawless (FL), the values are: Internally Flawless (IF), Very Very Slightly Included (VVS1), Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2), Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2) and Included (I1, I2 and I3).
The cut of a diamond is not the same as the shape of the diamond. The cut of a diamond includes the quality of the diamond's angles, proportions, symmetrical facets, its finishes, all ultimately contributing to the diamond's most important characteristic: the ability to reflect light and shine. The beauty of a diamond depends mostly on the cut, this operation being extremely complex and delicate. Two diamonds can be the same in terms of color, clarity and carat, but it is the cut that will determine which diamond is the most valuable. To evaluate the quality of a diamond's cut, experts take into account three aspects: the precision of the cut, the symmetry of the facets and the finish. A diamond with a sharper cut at the bottom is a larger, heavier diamond, but one that allows light to "come through". On the other hand, a smaller diamond with a very good cut will shine more brightly and be much more valuable.
Diamonds are sold by the carat, which is a unit of weight. Currently, one carat weighs exactly 0.2 grams, almost as much as a paper clip. In most cases, the higher the carat, the higher the price of the diamond. Since even a fraction of a carat can create a considerable difference in cost, the accuracy of the measurement is paramount and is the main criterion we refer to when buying a diamond. Equally important is the caratage-millimeter correspondence, a factor that can help a lot in the process of selecting a diamond. For example, 1 carat measures 6.5 mm, as you can see illustrated next. Choosing the perfect diamond thus becomes much easier, when you can visualize what size the stone will fit on your finger. Some carats are considered magical - half a carat, ¾ carat and 1 carat. Visually there is no difference between a diamond of 0.99 ct and one of 1 carat, but the price difference between the two is more than significant. The secret power of magic numbers is that the difference of 0.1 ct reduces the final price by more than 1% of the diamond price. A thing that only connoisseurs know. And now you.
